Founded in 1988 by Michael Orth and Terry Smith, SBC sought to provide a solution to a problem local roofing contractors were encountering. By combining Terry Smith's tool and die design expertise with Mike Orth's architectural sheet metal experience, SBC produced a functional conduit and pipe flashing constructed of stainless steel that drew applause from roof system manufacturers, architects, consultants, and from the roofer himself. The flashings echoed SMACNA and NRCA drawings and were user friendly. In the forthcoming years SBC solved problems associated with flashing angle irons, H-beams, Strut and Cables. From incorporation to the present SBC has worked closely with the designer and contractor to provide practical roof related flashings and accessories that enhance the longevity and durability of the modern building envelope. |
